I think we're in agreement but I just want to be clear that I recognise that a number of people, in particular you and Pintohoo, have a personal relationship with Nick and he uses your expertise as a sounding board. My post wasn't directed at these posters, or you or Pinto (in thought or spirit), as your relationship and feedback to Nick help AJX. I would no more suggest you limit contact with NC than fly to the moon!

You both are extraordinarily generous with sharing those conversations and your posts have helped me enormously. Sincere thanks for that, and if I could just reiterate that what I was asking for was more a personal discipline than a new set of HC rules.

Essentially it's about checking whether there's an answer to a question on the threads before contacting NC, and being respectful and supportive in our communication with him.
