you have summed up spec stocks perfectly. The way I see it it stagnates until drilling, then if they hit Au the SP significantly increases, if it hits U then it increases modestly, hits both fingers crossed it goes nuts.
not sure exactly what the flow sheet looks like for two pronged fork like this could be but will do some further research
