The short answer is The world cannot wait and they've been trying to create a vaccine for Covids ugly sister SARS since the outbreak in 2003 and still haven't succeeded. This is not a flu virus. Anyway, safety trials and 2 decades of commercial use of MPL in farm animals as Zolvix to get rid of parasites (human food chain and all that) means there is a lot known from practical experience about safety. PAA also has already done the phase one human trial (for cancer) So safety is not a huge issue, especially for something that's going to be used for a short period. So moving to trials with animals and then to humans to see if it actually works clinically, could be done very quickly.
