Hi Oilskin. I don't normally read this company's posts hence the delay.

50K is still yielding the odd nugget up to 15 grams and because no one person found the gold there it's hard to determine how much came out of the area around the gravel pits. Reputed to be over 200 ounces and that's more than believable by the number of holes there. All the gold was very near the surface and by tracing the occurrence of detector holes it is obvious that the shed extended over about 1600 metres in a NW direction.
There is no conglomerate at 50K, but the same basement rock is exposed at the bottom of the pit there as is at PR and CW. The conglomerate is gone, probaby cut by the big dolerite dyke that cuts through the area. The closest conglomerate I've seen there is about 3kms to the east, about 2kms west of CW.
There is a lot of talk on other forums regarding the Patch 47K conglomerates. There is no such thing. There is no conglomerate at 47K and obvious basement occurs well out to the south.
The gold is marine deposited and is in colluvium built up over the millennia and some of the dills running around are calling the colluvium conglomerate perhaps to enhance a story. It's origin may well have been from conglomerates further south but it is not in a conglomerate environment.
There is no doubt in my mind that most of the areas currently in the spotlight are nothing more than alluvial plays, albeit rich ones and there is a very limited chance of the origins being found in my opinion.
