My bet would be Newmont as well. Normally, Newmont gets involved, at least initially, with a 19% stake via private placement. With Kl already sitting there it would be a all or nothing for NEM.
I've always wondered how Novo managed to get such big money out of Kirkland (56 mil to start plus 14 mil warrants @ 6.00 way back then......? 6?) Novo seems to have been pushing Newmont away in favor of KL. I' don't think KL/Sprott stands a chance with DEG if NEM has the desire for some 100% Conglomerate foothold. A close second is a past grudge match.
