This is one of a number issues contributing to ineffective governance and management of not only this, but many other assets. The absence of meaningful accountability incorporated through performance-based remuneration, with at least some proportion at risk to ensure enduring shareholder value, means decision can be taken with limited or no consequences; particularly where voting power is tightly held and the balance is (.in many cases) uninformed or apathetic..
