It isn't cringe worthy at all. It is simply a statement of fact for those that were unaware. The price of the stock can go up or down regardless of a consolidation. Punters see stocks with less than 300m on issue more attractive than stocks with over 4b. It gives room for cap raises at a decent return when required also with less dilution. Ultimately it is the real stuff in the ground that determines a companies value but in the meantime sentiment and expectation for what is to come is what determines the SP today. Does a company with a plan and good board look more attractive with 289m shares? It does to me! Even if my 2m oppies end up 133k.
