Is there anyway to get rid of them when you can't sell them to...

Is there anyway to get rid of them when you can't sell them to claim the tax loss? I rang CommSec yesterday,they were helpful but no help because they said there's nothing they can do,they put me through to Link and they said they should be able to sort it out. Bloke was rude AF and basically said not their problem it's between a buyer and seller. Tried ringing the Classic F....wits probably 20 twenty times and goes straight to a voicemail from Madhu...only thing I found similarly related was on HotCopper from 2008 someone asking the same question and a link was shared for something called giftshare maybe but it didn't lead anywhere when I clicked on it
