I find it amazing that an action, that has an historically huge negative effect on shareholders, gets any support whatsoever, if you know an action leads to a lower market cap, why do it?

The answer is very obvious to me, it keeps management paid, thats why they want to do it, I guess its better than the company folding up, but the near future is not looking bright unless management release some positive announcements.
