    About 70 litres of electrolyte is needed to generate one kWh, and about 6600 pounds of vanadium pentoxide equivalent is required to make a 300 kWh battery. (Reneweconomy)

    US vanadium produces 73MWh. It was expanded from around 30mwh in 2021 for around 2.1million. It is easily modular. The knock on effect for producing electrolyte and on selling to customers as both battery and electrolyte will make it much more pallatable for firmer commitments. Besides, AVL has contracted 50mwh of batteries so far, so 33mwh is a great starting point.

    It also makes much more sense for creating a battery market here (where batteries are nowhere near as big) to start lower.
