Hmm "ridiculous" sounds a bit like hyperbole.

This company just slashed operational costs due to poor decsion making, so the addition of new costs is worthy of skepticism, especially when it is at the Board, and someone has just mentioned this indivdual has two other Board postions and his own company, (?) so isn't exactly going to be working full time for this $80k.

This stuff is incremental, one can become two can become three, and the same people thinking this is ridiculous now might be complaining about increasing expenses in 6 months time, if revenues aren't keeping up/exceeding as we hope.
