I think there is too much speculation here. I honestly don't know what is going on. There may have been an error of judgment (we are all fallible), or there may be a pleasant surprise awaiting us all.

Here is what I do know:

The company has a great team to drive it forward
The company does need capital (no surprises here)
The company's projects are looking great
Government and First Nations people are on side
Australia and the world needs the minerals that we have

"If" at the end of the day there has been an error, the company will bounce back for the reasons noted above. These types of errors ("if" there has been one) are not terminal. Terminal errors are what played out in the TNG days (years of capital raisings and discounted prices, wasted capital year after year, poor standing with traditional owners and government and an uncommercial project).
