there are many other scenarios if we are just guessing-
what if MNB has 2 interested parties and is getting competitive tension hence the delay and the chances of a better deal.
what if they are playing hard and the other party has yet to walk away - an extension means all sides are still willing to negotiate otherwise whatever is going on would have concluded with someone walking away.
