This story also notes RCR ‘s recent history of bidding aggressively to win solar power contracts .
Unfortunately the consequences of the blow out may reach further than just the one project if it has resulted from problem/s that may imoact other installations .

RCR is on the short list to win 12 months work in New Zealand on the City Rail Project.
The winning tender seems to be a bit overdue.
Maybe part of the extended suspension is the hope there will be good new to offset the bad?

“The circa NZ$2.5 billion (A$2.38 billion) City Rail Link (CRL) project involves the construction of a new 3.4 kilometre double-track rail tunnel underneath Auckland's city centre. The Systems ITC package, the longest running of the work packages, will include trackwork, overhead-line, signalling, control systems, tunnel ventilation, communications systems, high voltage power and trackside auxiliaries along the length of the project between Britomart Station and the Western Line at Mt Eden.
Works will also include responsibility for operational readiness testing and commissioning of the new system in conjunction with key stakeholders. This will comprise system and equipment trials, driver training, test train running and operating/maintenance manual updating.
Key stakeholders will include construction contractors, the train operator (currently Transdev), KiwiRail as owner and network operator, Auckland Transport (AT) and CAF (the train supplier).
Installation of these systems is expected to take approximately 12 months.
Expression of Interest (EOIs) were released in January 2017, and in May 2017 three companies were shortlisted from EOIs to proceed to the Request For Proposal (RFP) phase. These include John Holland, Laing O'Rourke Australia and RCR (Infrastructure) NZ Ltd.”
