The fact that OMH keeps providing funding for exploration means that they consider the venture with BYH worthwhile. Whilst there aren't millions of tonnes of Mn proved up yet doesn't mean that this is a dud. The grade is good and its dig and deliver DSO so not much benefication needed.
OMH is currently adding more manganese ore furnaces at their Sarawak plant and if anybody ever bothered to listen to the interviews they'd know the importance of the different composition of manganese which end up as smelter credits as they mix and blend manganese ore from different suppliers.
OMH is also cashed up and they're already the largest ferro alloy smelter in SE Asia outside China and the power contract for 20 years is now so important. The cost of their 350MVA agreement must be worth US$120 million annually above all other smelters in Asia.
This is their moat margin above every other smelter outside Sarawak.
I'd elaborate more but this is on the BYH thread, so for inform read posts on the OMH thread.
