It might be right to an extent - they have already announced moving from round pixels to square ones for example. But the pixels must be capable of ultrasonic response speed, and so there will be a limit to how fast a pixel can move with a larger and larger displacement. Also, increasing the displacement is tricky in the context of micromachining - the existing design for the spring that allows each pixel to move seems to already be fairly complex and uses all of the obvious area available.
