Another factor that people neglect is that, the main reason you don't engage with scammers is the further it goes the more hope you invest the easier to scam you become.
They get you so far down the rabbit hole management becomes desperate to prove this isn't a scam, thats when the "licence fee" or whatever ends up getting paid.
I was down the local club a few months back for lunch I saw a bunch of old timers crowded around the small TAB tv's you could see the same desperation on their faces, to the normal person we can see it's a complete waste of time and money, but to those in the rabbit hole, they can't see the Forrest from the trees.
This will end in tears.
