Cerrejon produces 32 million tonnes of production a year. Glencore grabbed 66% for AU$ 774 million, for a mine that will produce for at least another 9 years.
If current prices last they will basically pay that off in 6 months.
Once again promises to do X (cap on thermal production) gets trumped by money.
If BHP are selling so cheap, and NHC has been let back into the tender process for Mt Arthur (after raising money). Perhaps they really will pick it up.
