Why don't you think about it?
They already have a plan and approval to use specific containers for the toll mill tailings
They also have EPA approval to take PASS from the NEL
They have 2 pits they can use for either application
FEC aren't interested in PASS - they are mining oriented
So what are NAG going to charge for a tonne of PASS to be deposited in their pits?
You don't know and I don't know but we can assume that if PFAS or just normal fill disposal is anything to go by - it's not cheap in Victoria.
The real question is - will NAG forego a potentially very lucrative contract to take PASS at the expense of taking tailings?
The answer is NO -
why would they if they can do both!
The only way I can see NAG walking away from any potential PASS contract is if they can find something more lucrative to fill both pits with - and at this stage - I don't think it's 300,000 tonnes of tailings a year which represents about 20 years supply of tailings
Surely you can't be that thick
