Firstly, there is no "debate" with Lion. His very first post in response to my view on consolidations was to immediately denigrate the poster...... nothing at all about the merits or otherwise of consolidations. From there, he simply dug his own hole deeper and deeper.
Taking you at face value, have a look at my post on this thread at 09:58 on 13/4/16 where I talk about some academic research on consolidations and share price movements. Let me know what you think.
Note also that anecdotal evidence on consolidations, as in ewere's post, is consistent with the empirical research.
