An interesting way to try to quieten anyone whose opinion isnt aligned with your own. I note that Adam a, who recently sold out, ramped this stock repetitively but you have no apparent problem with that.
I too have an emotional attachment to the district and held, like you, some with 'punting' money but eventually I realised a couple of things. And if you had in fact done your research thoroughly it may have led you to the same conclusions.
