Two possible outcomes for each patient;
1) They go ahead with the Admedus SAVR device
2) They default to another SAVR device that is already on the market
In any event, these patients need a new heart valve. That is why they enrolled.
I would hope the impact on the hospital system of "1" is just as minimal as "2". Otherwise the hospital may push for "2" to get the patient in & out as quickly as possible.
As of yesterday, Belgium has 1,795 confirmed cases of COVID-19. That's not a crisis yet, but the hospitals will definitely be managing their theatre lists with some caution. It's up to the surgeon to advocate on Admedus's behalf, which we have led to believe is a surety.
