    Its the possible Chinese connection that excites. China is on an aggressive course of solving ,or reducing, its pollution bogy by extensive use of LNG. They have been buying shipments of same while they are on the water (which I take to mean the tanker gets redirected to a Chinese port).Forget US gas and LNG prices if you can niche market into China,or India ,or.......
    Just about everything (apart from the size of the shipments,maybe,from small(ish) tankers) is going our way. High calorie gas,high levels of solids,solid Govt.support,floating manufacturing plant built in a factory to proven specifications and with a guarantee of likely performance, "old" technology, floating gas receiving stations buildable for about half the price of the land-based equivalent and appropriate to tankers discharging in a shallower harbour nearer to the end user than main(deep water) ports........
    The pressure is on China to achieve its clean air targets,sooner rather than later.
    Pressure to participate in gas field ownership,pressure to form alliances to do with anything that will assist in achieving the targets.
    I refer again to the important public statement by HZN that they would like more say than previously with their increased share of ownership of the Maari partnership.HZN,in a 26% situation,has no more muscle than it had at 10%. Its actually in a weaker position (IMO) with 26% than 10% in the event of conflict in the partnership.
    It all points to OMV knowing ,and approving, HZNs public statement before it hit the streets. If HZN can bring CNOCC to the partnership table it will have more clout beyond a simple 26% non-operatorship role.
    Beibu and Maari. Quite similar operations. Sandstone fields,offshore in shallow windswept waters,multiple wells in close proximity to each other and to land.....
