What I am saying is if a landfill was built next door to me containing the solids from CSG brines I wouldnt be worried about the health and environmental risks. Such a landfill would be regulated by authorities, it would have strict construction and management parameters. Presumably it would have liners to prevent seepage into the ground, leachate would be collected in traps and these would be monitored and processed. The landfill would be covered with something impervious. Run off would be collected and monitored for contamination before being discharged. Things like storms, earth subsidence, vandalism would be anticipated and measures taken to prevent anything bad.
I am aware salt contamination could be a threat to farming, I have a long farming background. I cant see how a salt landfill properly run could contaminate farming soils and water.
