"It is not hard to assume some of HC commentators give the impression they know more than the Company."... you may get that impression, only because some of us are trying to work out why they made such a balls-up, what's really going on and when it's going to be fixed. No question STA are full of people with lots more knowledge and experience, just not always in min sands and the company is always going to sell the glass half full (right or wrong).

So who are these Livewire spruikers, do they have any industry experience, or have they just drunk the company Kool-aid and now regurgitating it back to push their own book? just looked up the article out of interest and it's a copy and it's a banal paraphrasing from STA's pitch going back ages. Fair enough though, perhaps they see a bargain at 18c, got set in the CR and now looking profit of capitulating old holders into the great re-rate... This be them, Yao and Johnston, not sure if they ever worked on a mine, let alone a min sands?

Quick google to check and media is littered with puff pieces about them setting up small cap specialist, Tyndall AM Australian Small Companies Fund. Clipping tickets is a living, nothing against it, and in bull markets the performance kicker can be quite an earner. AFR gave them some air time to get started in this article early May.

A well-worn 'value' and 'growth' strategy, sounds great so long as they can deliver.

Comedy Gold tongue.png tongue.png bought STA with their punter's money early May at 36c, halved it 3 months despite a strategy "avoiding the downside risks of catastrophes" tongue.png Today have the gall to push it onto Livewire readers without any disclosure they f'd up big time and need retail cavalry to start digging them out because the price hasn;t traded above the CR since it re-listed. Same retail then comes onto HC with a copy and paste and having a dig at those trying to look deeper into the situation than first page of STA's pitch presentation... too funny.

Thank you @geb, this has made my day. Reminds me why I do what I do instead of following tip sheets (not that a broken clock won;t eventually be right, or that STA aren;t at the bottom already, fingers crossed). Not that I get it right all the time, but quite happy taking management guidance/excuses with a pinch of salt, doing my analysis and providing alternative opinions.

    Cheers
