I don't like down hole mining when you don't have much dosh. It might be perfectly practical, but I see risk and expense. That particular hole is very deep and looks tricky to maintain, but I'm no miner. The equipment is tricky too, with all those boggers and ventilation, how long do you reckon it will take to drive up and down that spiral? How many sets of tyres and engines would we go through? It would be like the mother of all multi story car parks. Now digging a little hole on top and popping it on a truck I understand.

Don't follow my advice though, I've been supplying the mining industry with wheels for 30 years as they wreck them on steep slopes, but have never had anything else to do with it.

The chart is looking better than it has for many years.
