Agree, it would be so so interesting to ever hear what a board discussed about potential merger's and acquisitions, though that would vary greatly between companies, as not so long ago, WGX has only one opinion... cookies.. Now with WB at the helm, I am confident (as much as anyone can ben with out sitting in on meetings) that all the on board get a fair hearing (would still be WBs call, but... not like the past) and not be chasing ounces for ounces sake. WB has been working hard to totally reverse that. As you say, WGX does not need to rush (though I think it does in regards to the Bluebird mill), because, their best production is still ahead for their main U/G mines.
As for why RMS walked away, I can only speculate that Karora know all too well that RMS will soon be a 1 plant company and their script is overvalued. Even with their Penny mine printing $$$.
If WGX is truly focused on the Murchison, they should start scooping up 1-2 of the smaller players, though.... I still think WGX has very good potential to replicate the success the small caps have had around it's plants, with it now finally drilling it's own targets (though that takes time.... to get them into production).
WGX will likely have close to $300m in cash by June 30.... Even whilst investing heavily in growth. They either need to use that capital to acquire new assets, or drill the hells out of what they have. I would like to see WGX do what GMD did by using script to pay for assets, instead of undertaking length T/Os, but... I guess it depends on the what they are after.
Should be a very interesting week ahead.
