Thanks. But unfortunately I don't have the answwr to my question. I will try to explain if anyone is interested.
The bit I am not understanding is it seems the virus enters cells and then replicates, creating more virus "envelopes" that exit the cell and go about infecting other cells. I understand how rce could kill the virus envelopes that are circulating but the bit I don't get is how they can effect the virus that has already entered into a cell and turned it into a "virus producing factory" as some describe it. Surely Rce has no effect here as it cannot enter cells or effect viral production?
My understanding of remdesivir which had a lot of publicity as an anti viral was that it actually blocked this replication and as such was successful at slowing and stopping the virus.
It seemed to me maybe this was why rce was possibly not as effective in controlling the actual virus in live animals, as it is killing the virus but not preventing the replication of new viral envelopes, so virus just keeps replicating. I wasn't sure if this war could be won by allowing cells to keep replicating the virus. If the infection had already entered many cells surely just killing the viral envelopes outside cells is not enough? This was why I thought if Rce could get to the virus before it entered cells it might be very effective. Obviously not a vaccine as it only works for a limeted time after application, hence why I thought they'd need barrels of it if it were used as a preventative, due to needing to be frequently re dosed to maintain protection.
one of the early ferret tests for another nasal treatment if I recall was tested by giving it to uninfected ferrets then putting them in with infected ones. Apparently that approach was able to completely protect the uninfected animals 100%. I would think Rce could work like that but once infection has entered cells?
Maybe the perfect solution would be taking Rce compound with Remdesivir treatment together? Throw in mgc ArtemiC as an anti inflammatory and that could be a dream combo? Just theorising, I like to try and actually understand how these things work.
