Thanks for thinking of us ... the earthquake was a non-event compared with the flooding. We are about as close as you could get to the earthquake on the Nth island - it was sudden crack and one ornament (in our case) was broken ... no warning as we were so close I assume.
No rain issues for us personally. NZT? probably ok I expect.

But the floods are devastating for many ... like some you have had in Oz ... redefining housing/land use I expect and will ask many questions of our bureaucratic councils/Govt who all issue red tape building directives that are of no consequence when mother nature decides to slap us around the chops. Common sense and geography should rule but lawyers and district planners think they are Gods.
