Zali Steggal and Dr Monique Ryan are both strong advocates for renewable energy. Steggal's 5 step plan, which is supported by Dr Ryan, is in favour of removing subsidies for coal and LNG based electricity generation.
Whether this means that drilling for export stops I am unsure of. Either way we have a lot of uncertainty now regarding change of policy.
My intuition tells me that getting off LNG is a 5+ year commitment so there should be good money to be made in that time. It is disappointing people view LNG similar to coal. We are so far unable to build renewable energy infrastructure from renewable energy sources.
