The key to the issue is in the last sentence. The words are well chosen but guarded. Peoples feelings need careful thought but the shareholders need to read the truth.

confident that it now has the management team in place.............The board had lost confidence in David Wrench. Carnegie has the power to change anything. David W has tried hard over the last year but trial and error are expensive. STX needs results and saleable gas now.
take Strike through its’ next stage of development. I don't see a sale. The last two words say that they are pressing on to develop the resource. If there was a T/O being considered, then these words are unnecessary and the sentence would end at "its' next stage."
