Agreed. But not because of the article. It's the product of an NGO that has it's own agenda and a lose relationship with fact.
However, there is an illegal junta running around Myanmar killing civilians at this point and that is very real. IMO MYL have two courses of action, sell to an Asian based business/country who doesn't care about morality and international law (a few come to mind) or put the project on ice until there is a resolution and the thugs stop killing civilians.
It is still one of the biggest projects on the planet and even if it takes a few years it will find value.
