    Marty, I would watch the advice you are giving. Selling shares then buying them back can be construed as a wash sale from the ATOs perspective.

    In addition, dividend income even with franking credits can increase your tax payable.

    Enjoy the Caribbean and perhaps stop off at a H&R block they handle basic tax enquiries.
