You're pretty much spot on with this man - the MedTech / medical field is a bit particular with buying new products - most hospitals / clinics are fairly risk adverse and rely on:
- Good clinical data - actual patient data or clinical trial data (regulatory approval data / post market trials)
- Key opinion leaders - essentially 'influencers' of the medical field i.e. very well respected doctors in the field endorsing
- Clinical guide lines - this is usually the last to change, but this dictates 'best practice' for what doctors should be doing to treat a patient
- Uptake from other hospitals
I get the feeling about SP, no one likes seeing red in their portfolio, but I'm still hopeful for 4DX - they're doing everything right and setting up all the ground work and signing these deals which will help with 1-4.
In my opinion, it's all about reaching a critical mass point, where once you hit a level of solid data and customers, the rest of the market will buy your product.
The hardest thing about medtech is breaking into the market but once you're in, customers are very sticky and not too price sensitive, when 4DX establishes itself, I think we'll see some massive rev growth and also SP - it's a patience game for me.
It's unfortunate to know people have lost their jobs because of this round of cuts, but this will provide a good amount of runway and time for 4DX to really get some good runs of the board
