Quite right. The SP is off its recent highs, and that is not due to increasing short positions. So you would be shorting from a lower base which is a bit more ballsy.
I think we could see a speculative uplift in price across the next week pre inclusions in the asx200, then from Friday next week more shorts but not necessarily a lower sp given the increased volume.
