    "Patent granted" is more like "no bad news" rather than "good news". If the patent application had been rejected, that would have been price sensitive in a terrible way.

    Granting the patent really just confirms the protection already sought with the original application. Protection extends back to the date of the initial application, and will expire after the relevant time has elapsed from back then. If you look back at when patent applications have been lodged you'll sometimes see a bit of a bump in share price. This definitely happened with the application in China. But "granted" or "approved" rarely moves the price very much.
