Kack, Good point... Barry Lambert has done an exceptional job with cou over the years and the track record of count financial outperforming the market over the years as well as the high rates of r.o.e. will continue imo.
With the purchase of mortgage choice at an average price of around $1.04 it shows managements ability to purchase assets at below intrinsic value.
This is a quality business with a no nonsense balance sheet.I do hold other stocks medium to long term which most are aware of but cou is one of the bigger holdings in my portfolio and part of the reason is due to Barry's understanding of the cou model.
The intrinsic value of cou is growing at a rate of 18-20% per annum and on these numbers the shares have good long term value for those who are patient and more interested in the business performance over the next 5 to 10 years as share price will follow accordingly.
