The Firefly MD, Simon Lawson, has an impressive past, as group Principal Mine Geologist for Northern Star. He only has to see what happened at Dacian and Gascoyne to be reminded that geos are only as good as their last assignment.
Also, I think the Gascoyne team did a fair amount of tyre kicking before announcing the deal. It may be that Gascoyne will pull a Ramelius and cut the guts out of the Melville resources estimate once they take ownership and then rely on further drilling to JORC the numbers back up.
