The flexibility offered by Smart Office enabled McAfee to turn to Colt as a single source of network provision, from day to day connectivity and voice access to Internet and data access solutions, all from a single provider.
Insurance
AOK is a Health insurer in Germany with over 25 million policy holders, 56,000 employees in approximately 1,600 branches. We provided a fully supported MPLS network with provisioning, monitoring and operational responsibility for their web-based communication platform, using two Colt high security data centres.

Shurgard is the leading self-storage company in Europe, and is part of Public Storage, the largest storage solutions provider in the United States. The European operations span 189 storage locations in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and United Kingdom.
To support the European operations of the company, Shurgard hosts its business critical applications in Colt’s primary, carrier neutral data centre in Belgium. With important customer related applications running centrally, the availability of Shurgard’s data centre environment is critical to ensure maximum customer service levels; at the same time, Shurgard needed to improve their IT disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. Berenberg was founded in 1590, and today, it is one of Europe's leading private financial institutions, with its private banking, investment banking, asset management and corporate banking divisions. In order to guarantee that its data is secure, both the operation of the secondary data centre and the high-availability network, which enables the data centres to be connected and mirrored in real time, have been implemented by Colt for Berenberg.

It relies on robust networking services to help manage the risks associated with clearing and settlement for Europe’s largest equities trading houses. Fidelity is a global investment management company. Colt operates and monitors Fidelity’s new data centre facility, providing a scalable platform to meet future business demands.
Dutch merchant bank Kempen & Co prides itself on providing the best capital management, securities broking, corporate finance and investment services to customers, including institutional investors, financial institutions, governments, foundations and individuals. Since 2003, Colt has been such a partner for the bank, providing a growing number of managed IT and business continuity services that free Kempen & Co to focus on its core business with the same confidence it gives to its customers. The UK-based independent fund promotion firm, Source, specialises in exchange-traded products, a rapidly growing area of the financial industry. Launched in 2009, Source has grown aggressively to manage $15 billion of assets, becoming the fifth largest provider of its kind, with the core of its business in the European equity markets. In a dynamic trading environment, flexible and resilient data provision is essential to manage a rapidly expanding volume of transactions. Hospitality and Leisure
Louvre Hotels Group is the second largest hotel chain in Europe, with 920 hotels ranging from budget to luxury brands. Working with Colt since 2002, Colt solutions are used to underpin their critical application for more effective business performance; as well as provide WiFi, international call services and innovative booking and check-in services for their customers.
To make Ireland stand out to potential visitors in today's media-hungry world, Tourism Ireland needs a network with the bandwidth and reliability to support new marketing channels and multimedia formats, including video and apps. The challenge was to increase bandwidth without increasing costs. With Colt's offer, Tourism Ireland is able to triple network speed while actually cutting costs by 30%.
IT and Telco
RS Group, a major Italian company founded in 1994, offers ICT services to small and medium enterprises that have minimal internal IT expertise. The Group, who provide assistance to nearly 1,500 lawyers across 30 law firms, specialises in the legal industry as a core sector for the business. Their experience in this market shows that the potential revenue loss caused by an interruption of the network could reach 20% a year, the equivalent of 15 million Euros. This risk is mitigated through the creation of a unified, reliable and secure network from Colt, connecting the data centre and company offices with those of their clients.
