My perspective is that Goodfella is useful, because he and other posters encourage me to look into my own reasoning for investing in CCP, and other stocks. I do not answer his posts to benefit him, I answer them to benefit myself by continually revisiting my thoughts on my holdings. My way of thinking is to write my thoughts down, and I often change my thinking in the process. Having a readership exposes the written thoughts to other, and they may well respond in a useful manner that prompts me to investigate some things that I think I should research.
On the last point, I have for years been aware of Harry Dent and his long history of wrong predictions, but answering Goodfella's post yesterday has allowed me to add Jim Rogers, Peter Schiff and Marc Faber to that list, and there are others. I originally included Nouriel Roubini in that list, but I decided he has made sufficient correct predictions in respect to economics to remove his name. Who these individuals are and what incentivises them is an interesting topic that does not belong in this CCP subforum.
