This is great news! I begged to differ with an eminent poster here, @ecoool2, on the time line but he was right, it takes more time to enroll than I thought, apologies for this.
We now know for sure that the trial will not be stopped by futility analysis (we had a hunch but still good to know).
Importantly, the DSMB interim analysis and expected full enrollment will take place in September. I tend to agree with @Tunnah regarding the necessity to complete full enrollment of trial to avoid questioning interim analysis later by adversaries (rather enemies, when one reads the Lassman piece). “Overwhelming” may be considered by some of them as a subjective concept, unless it is categorically overwhelming (100% success). As both interim and full enrollment are corresponding in the same month, it would be preferable to complete the trial and dodge naysayers’ criticism.
I expect the US market to welcome these results later today very favorably.
