i believe that CEO already on a backup plan including offering a dongle as a backup solution(from his earlier interview). IMO, if they decided go down this way, Tyro will be in a transition to Square, where no more worldline hardware is needed eventually - a dramatical cost reduction. And the outrage can possible become a big turning point toward the future
