no doubt there will be some collaboration moving forward but that is definitely going to take some time and it doesn't preclude businesses that use tyro from offering a BNPL service. By the time apt and square can roll out some kind of hardware collaboration, if they do that is, i would hope that tyro has already firmed itself in the space as the go to terminal provider.
The small business financing is another point of difference that business may prefer to have up their sleeve if needed and is a service that apt aren't providing. to me they are targeting 2 different pools of people. tyro is targeting business, apt/square are targeting the consumer.
