Target has been in transformation for years, by now you would imagine that they have a first class online retail platform, and unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be the case. They were still placing customers in queues on their website at Christmas, what did they learn during all these years?!

Their online customer facing capabilities are still lagging, just looking at their website it feels old and far from modern. If they want to compete in the mid market, they seriously need to improve their approach to online customer service. Compared to ASOS, The Iconic, Catch, Target has a lot more work to do if they want to become competitive, and I am not even talking about their products.

From the outset I don’t see Target being equiped to become a key player in online retail. In my view, better selling the business or close it down all together.
