Imho, they keep the price of stock down for a length of time, up to 1-2 years and then the potential suitor come up with a low ball offer that looks very tempting. Just check out what is happening to WCL and PNA, both under takeover offers which the board believe and 'valuers' think are way below fair value. I think with high speed trades and technology we will be seeing more of these. For us s/h (particularly retail investors) it really stinks. Just my thoughts.
