CREDIT: ANB: Notice pursuant to Listing Rule 10.6

ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited ("ANZ Bank") notes the release by Standard &
Poor's Rating Services ("Standard & Poor's") of a one notch downgrade of the
Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment for New Zealand banks. As a
consequence ANZ Bank's stand-alone credit profile is downgraded one notch to
'bbb+' from 'a-'.
ANZ Bank's issuer credit rating of AA-/Stable/A-1+ remains unchanged with
stable outlook.  The ratings of ANZ Bank's subordinated debt remain unchanged
at BBB+ (ANBHA) and BBB- (ANBHB).
