You like to see these types of things discovered by your own internal controls, rather than somebody else. If internal audit or risk (or whoever it was that detected it) hadn't picked it up, you would be asking what are they doing and why are they being paid. Calculating interest correctly is a fundamental for any lending/debt purchasing business. Let's hope it doesn't become bigger than they initially expected (and disclosed).
