Good to see you are still around. I mentioned your nom-de-plume recently in this subforum, but wrote TGA by mistake, rather than CCP.
CCP would not typically buy debtors ledgers from the likes of Nimble and Money3, but they have been known to, in effect, do the same thing by buying businesses, as CCP did when it bought TGA's Cash First. Such acquisitions are like buying a lower-grade PDL, but not adding it to the PDL investment tally.
CCP has no interest in these acquisitions as businesses, it's just the value of what might be collected that, when set off against the collection cost, has value. A percentage of the acquired customer base who are suitable for CCP's loan business, and who return as repeat borrowers, would also have some value, but not necessarily much. There is a small value in knowing who the non-players are, because those not known to CCP can be added to its do-not-touch database, and thus improve CCP's automated evaluation process for investing in PDLs.
In all, CCP would not pay much for such businesses, so acquiring Nimble is unlikely. Even if CCP acquired Nimbus at a fire-sale price, the news would be no more useful to a long-term investor than being informed that CCP had bought PDLs of equivalent value, IMO.
