    Probably not. CCP has in the past substantially bought competitors to get the PDLs, so if there are no PDLs, Management may not be interested, because Management is very cautious, and loath to enter areas that it does not understand. CCP probably needs new blood to do what SOL has done.

    I personally do not see much distinction between deciding what assets to invest in, compared to what debt should be invested in. One or two astute individuals could make such decisions. As much as I admire what Mr Beregi did a decade or so ago, I do not think he has the personality to make the sort of decisions that SOL made. I only know SOL because when I worked in IT in the 1970s, SOL (then Washington H Soul Pattinson) was a client – I have never invested in them, but I should have.

    The Milner family have been running SOL for generations, so the history is easily found on the Internet. All that CCP has to do, is find a Milner clone, as Mrs Beaton of jugged-hare renown could have put it.
