    My guess is to get an entry into the target they had modeled up.

    If you look at my "gold shiz" diagram you can see the perforated dotted red line which shows RC drilling targets 150m-300m, seemingly designed based on the 805m DD hit. Maybe that's the stage that NXM drives a couple of cores straight down through the orebody to show its extent?
